A customer came to us with an old Roland DM80 Disk Recorder.

This device was used a long time ago to make and mix sound recordings and had a very good reputation.

So good that these devices are still in use today (for more than 23 years). (see https://www.rapmag.com/273-1990s/93/aug93/1050-test-drive-the-roland-dm-80-multi-track-disk-recorder)

Problem here was that the hard drives no longer functioned after 23 years. Since our customer was attached to his device, he wanted to have it put back in order and came to us to do so.

After some research, we found compatible hard disks (MFM interface) that still functioned. After testing them, they were built into the Roland, and after reconfiguring the system everything worked as before. Good for many years to come!
